About Me

Hey Everyone! I thought it would be great if you all knew a little about me! My name is Nur Ashour, and I am currently a Pre-Medical/Elementary Education student here in Colorado. I graduate in December of 2014. Yay! I am a total NERD and love to study! I was home-schooled throughout high school and that is when I found my passion for cooking. My free time is not spent shopping, or with friends, it is spent cooking. I am more into baking then I am into savory food, but I will try anything I can get my hands on! Of course, when you cook you need a guinea pig (or a few!) to try your food. Now, sometimes their constructive criticism is more mean than it is constructive, but I have learned to ignore, because if they didn't like it then why did it disappear the same hour?! You see, I am the oldest of six children.Yes, six. And counting my half sister, that is seven. There is a 16 year age difference between me and my youngest sister, and I've got two annoying brothers. One is just a pain, and the other just cries - CONSTANTLY! My sisters are not that bad. My half sister is happily married and shows up at any sight of food. The one younger than me in a year tries absolutely everything I make and takes advantage of the personal room service. Now, for the two youngest. The baby of the family is just the spoiled brat. She touches everything, plays with everything, and wants everything, and she is pretty darn good at getting it all her way. The other sister is the angel. Despite the eight year age difference between us two, we get along better then we do with the others. She is my little helper, and I love it! I also recently got engaged and am excited to be able to cook for him, because he loves food just as much as I do! He is picky, but I'm gonna have to learn to sneak things in or just deal with it! Regardless, he is perfect in every sense of the word. So even though he hates pickles, I still adore him!
Now for my cooking/baking. I will try everything from cakes to cookies, candies, pastas etc. I find this inner peace when I cook. It is my kind of yoga. The only issue is I have got a bad sweet tooth, so if I make a pan of brownies, I don't even need anyone to taste it. I can do it myself. Thank god for my ridiculously fast metabolism, or I would probably be 400 lb. or dead. But instead, I am here cooking. Now, another thing you should know about me is I LOVE butter! And when I mean love it, I MEAN LOVE LOVE it. It is going to be very rare that you will see a recipe that does not have butter, but sadly you will. So be careful, I warned you. Reading my blog, you will either end up fat or with heart disease! Also, did I mention I am a BIG talker?! Alright, that is enough of your time today! Now GET COOKING!

Of course, I have one more thing to add (I wouldn't be me if I didn't keep you reading), I couldn't do any of this work if it weren't for my amazing cousin and manager of my blog Ragda. She does a lit to make sure my blog is up and running and is constantly maintaining it. I may provide the recipes, but she's amazing at doing the rest. She's the chef that cooks up this blog!
